District Tours
The West Side SWCD hosted an AG Tour on September 11th, 2017. The AG Tour aim was to educate and inform. Led by the West Side Soil & Water Conservation District (WS SWCD)established in 1944 as on of the 1st in the Upper Snake River Valley. The tour included officials from the City of Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Representatives from the offices of Simpson, Risch and Crapo, local lending institutions, and other local businesses. The Tour was about informing, educating and showing how diversified agriculture is today and how important it is to the area's economy. The tour included stops at G2 Research, Sun Rain Potato Varieties, Johnson's feedlot, Gary Dixon Farms, and Jim Dixon Farms. Lunch was served at the Jim Dixon Farm Shop with the East Side Supervisors cooking BBQ for 45 attendees.
