WATER FESTIVAL
The water festival was started in 1997, and has been going for 16 years, each year more students attend both the activities at Tauphaus Park and also tour the Idaho Falls power plant, there are about 25 presenters at the park, students and their teachers visit the different booths and partisapate in their activities. The Soil Districts do Conservation Jeopardy, just like the TV show Jeopardy where they have 5 categories to choose from with points given from 1 to 5 and daily doubles, the class is divided into 2 teams and the team with the most points at the end of the session is declared the winner, each student receives an award and the teachers receive teacher bags with information on the upcoming poster contest with the Theme and rules so their class can participate. This year 2,000 students came to the park with 450 students playing the Conservation Jeopardy board game, District board members help out during the day, and enjoy testing the students with their knowledge. A mini water festival was done for the 3rd year, with a group of the presenters going to 2 area schools that were unable to attend the day at the park, by doing this, 250 additional students were able to play the Conservation Jeopardy Game.
